What day of the month does my license expire? Licenses always expire on the last day of the month.
"When can I submit my license renewal application to the Nevada Real Estate Division?" Within 30 days of the date of expiration.
"Can I mail my renewal in?" Yes. It must be postmarked by midnite on the last day of the month. Send it certified mail with a return. Give a copy of your receipt of mailing, a copy of your application, and copies of your CE certificates to your broker. Have your broker file it away. If they're audited before your new license arrives, they'll be able to show you applied for renewal on time.
"Can I take the same CE class twice in my current renewal period for CE credits?" No! You can not take the same CE class during your current OR your next renewal period. Also, the same class usually means the same CE number. However, there are classes with the same name, but different CE numbers. See: NAC 645.463 Restrictions on receipt of credit for course.
"Does the real estate division have a way to check what CE classes I attended during my last renewal to verify whether I repeated a class?" No. In other words, you're on the honor system with respect to being in compliance with NAC 645.463. According to a licensing adminstrative assistant at the NRED, "the division does not have a system to verify if the classes submitted with a renewal were submitted with the previous renewal. We advise all licensees to keep the original certificates and submit copies. This ensures they have a record of all the classes taken."
"What is Postlicensing Education vs. Continuing Education?" Licensees who obtained their initial license on or after 01/01/06 must completed 30 hours of prescribed postlicensing education (there are exceptions). Subsequent renewals must complete 24 hours of continuing education which includes at least one course in each of the mandatory topic areas (A, C, E, LL). Any questions e-mail: info@NevadaCE.com
"I did not renew my initial license on time. Are there additional educational requirements? Yes. If you're on the CE track you'll have to take the required 30 CE Hrs. plus an additional 18 CE Hrs. If you're on the PL track you'll have to take the required 30 Hrs. of PL plus 18 CE Hrs. Either way, there's an additional 18 Hrs. of CE for failing to renew an initial Nevada real estate license on time. There will also be a late penalty.
"Do you offer Postlicensing Education classes?" YES! I currently have 5 PL modules and I'll have all the required hours soon! Click here for my Postlicensing schedule!
